MX Lookup
Find a domain’s mail servers
Discover which servers receive email for a domain, in priority order, with each server resolved to its IP address.
How to read the results
- 1.Enter a domain to see its MX (Mail Exchange) records.
- 2.Lower preference numbers are tried first. Each MX host is resolved to its IP so you can confirm the mail path end to end.
- 3.No MX records means the domain cannot receive email.
Why it matters
If mail to a domain is bouncing or disappearing, the MX records are the first thing to check — they decide where every message is delivered.
Frequently asked questions
What does the preference number mean?
It sets the order senders try mail servers — the lowest number first, higher numbers as backups.
A domain has no MX record — can it still get mail?
Generally no. Without an MX record, most senders will fail to deliver mail to the domain.
